Chair of Governors
My involvement with TMA goes back to 2008 when my first child started at the school. Since then I have had two children complete their education here and a fourth currently on the role. In 2009, I became a Parent Governor at Two Mile Ash and now since September 2016, Chair of Governors.
In my time at the school, I have been immensely impressed by what is achieved for and by our children. We have skilled and hardworking staff who are dedicated to ensuring that all the children receive an education of the highest quality.
Whilst academic achievement is always at the forefront of any parent’s considerations, we believe that it is also about the journey your child makes through TMA and the opportunities that they have been offered and taken in and outside of the classroom.
We are very fortunate in today’s education environment to be able to offer and maintain a very rounded and inclusive provision for our children. The results year on year are a credit to the children and teachers – high performing educational results, dedicated pupil support provision, participating and running (and winning) successful sporting events, Harmonize and the Young Voice at the O2, more than 20 extra curriculum clubs run each week, individual year productions, Fireworks Displays……the list can go on and I will have missed so many.
The result though, and the aim of the school, is to ensure that each Child is well prepared for life beyond TMA….although when you attend the Year 6 leavers performance and assembly, perhaps we should focus on preparing the Teachers for life without your children!
The small but focussed Governors Team is responsible for supporting the school and Senior Team in making sure that everything that we achieve together is done so seamlessly and to the value of your children. As well as regular Governing Body meetings, smaller Finance and Learning Excellence Committees ensure a balanced challenge is made to the school considering the interest of all Pupils, Parents, Teachers and more.
TMA is part of the wider Trust, IFTL and we are therefore supported by a wider team, schools and community. It increases our ability to continue to provide the wonderful provisions at TMA.
Making your child’s time at TMA a memorable one takes a partnership approach. Please take us up on engaging with us whenever you need – we will listen and work with you. Please look more at the website which will expand on life at TMA and in the meantime, thank you for your continued support making TMA such an Outstanding School!
