The curriculum is all the planned activities that we organise in order to promote learning and personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also the range of extra-curricular activities that the school organises in order to enrich the experience of the children. It also includes the ‘hidden curriculum’, or what the children learn from the way they are treated and expected to behave. We aim to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills, so that they achieve their true potential.
Our Foundation Curriculum At Two Mile Ash School we are extremely proud of our creative and vibrant curriculum which contains termly inspiring “Learning Journeys”. Encompassing our foundation subjects, our Learning Journeys are a carefully planned thematic approach to teaching and learning designed to support children’s natural curiosity and stimulate their creativity. Learning Journeys offer children the opportunity to work in depth, giving them the time they need to reflect, consolidate and transfer their learning. Though rich cross-curricular, exciting learning experiences, our Creative Curriculum aims to deliver a twenty-first century education that will equip our children with the skills required to be independent and responsible citizens.
