Year 6 Leavers 2026

Year 6 End of Year Celebrations!

We are nearing that time of year where our Year 6 children are getting ready to leave us at Two Mile Ash and continue their learning at secondary school. We have a very packed calendar in the run up to the end of the year and several events to celebrate our wonderful Year 6 children and all the hard work and effort they have put in this year.

These events include:

Monday 15th June 2026 12:30pm – Year 6 Sports Day

Each year we have our interhouse sports days where the children take part in a variety of different events to earn points for their houses. We look forward to encouraging one another and that all important competitive spirit!

 

 

Friday the 26th June 2026 – Talent Show

 The children will be invited to take part in a talent show where they will share their talents with the rest of the year group! This could be playing a musical instrument, showing some magic tricks or even cup stacking! We are looking forward to seeing all the talents the children have to offer! Should your child not wish to show a talent to the year group, we invite them to be part of our very important voting audience where they will help the judging panel to decide the winners!

 

Week beginning 29th June 2026

 There are various transition events taking place across this week. Your child’s secondary school will share plans with you so your child can experience some time at their new school before enrolling in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask questions, meet new friends and learn a little bit more about what to expect in September.

 

Friday 3rd July 2026 – Film Afternoon

 We will be holding a film afternoon where the children will vote for different films to watch with their friends. There will be a small snack provided with allergies carefully considered and sent out closer to the time.

 

 

Monday 6th July 2026 – Picnic Lunch and Buddy Time!

From 12:30pm we will close the school field to the rest of the school and have a special picnic lunch for our Year 6 children. They are welcome to bring in picnic blankets to sit down on and bring their packed lunches down to the field. Staff from across the school who have taught and supported the children throughout their learning journey over the last 4 years will join us. After the children have eaten they will be joined by their Year 3 buddies.

 

Friday 10th July 2026 – Old Fashioned Sports Day and Tug of War Competition

We are holding an old fashioned sports day with egg and spoon races, three legged races and sack races too! We will have different stations with different activities from welly wanging to tug of war! I think the teachers will definitely want to join in with this one!

 

Tuesday 14th July 2026 1:45pm and 4pm – Year 6 Production

The whole year group is working towards our performance of What a Knight! All the children are involved, whether cast or crew, so we are expecting the children to stay after school on show day for the after-school performance. You will receive more details regarding tickets and costumes nearer the time.

 

 

Wednesday 15th July 2026 – Leavers Assembly

Each year we hold our leavers celebration where a number of awards are presented and there are opportunities to take photographs to remember their time at our school. We will be holding our leavers assembly on Wednesday 15th of July at 1:30pm. Parents are invited to join us in school from 1:10pm heading onto the field (weather permitting) to celebrate all that the children have achieved this year before it is finally time to say goodbye and wish them good luck in their new schools. Please bring a picnic blanket or picnic chairs with you so you can have a comfortable seat while we share our Year 6’s success! In the case of bad weather we will hold the assembly in the hall in which case we would have to unfortunately limit the number of guests in attendance to just parents of children.

Wednesday 15th July 2026 – Leavers Disco

Following our leavers assembly we will be holding a leavers disco which will be free of charge between 5 and 6pm where all children are invited to spend the evening together and dance the night away! We will have Mr H’s camera set up to take lots of pictures of the children with their friends with various props and these will be displayed on our school website. All children must be collected by parents from the school disco at 6pm and should your child be going home with another child or different adult, please can you communicate this in writing before the event.

Friday 17th July 2026 – Shirt Signing

Each year we invite the children to make memories by signing one another’s PE shirts outside on the playground. This is a lovely opportunity to have their PE t-shirt signed by their peers and teachers and keep as a memento of their time at TMA. We have very high expectations for ensuring that all the messages are kind and respectful.

Please can children wear their school uniform to school that day and bring a spare shirt to sign rather than wearing the shirt to be signed.

If you could provide your child with a felt tip pen to sign their shirt this would be greatly appreciated.

We are excited to be holding all these events and hope the children will be too. If you are concerned about your child joining in with any activities, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher but we are excited for a very memorable and special end of term.
