Our Class Read
Year 4 have just started an exciting new class read by Sylvia Bishop. The story follows a young girl who makes her way by train across Europe on a hunt for a priceless missing diamond.
This novel is obviously a perfect why to ad context and fictional adventures to our geography topic 'Exploring Europe'.
The children are really enjoying this book so far and as part of our school reading pledge, teachers are sharing this story with their classes for at least 10 minutes every day.

It’s been a superb start to the term down in Year 4.
Classrooms have been awash with shared happiness to be back as we’ve been getting to grips with our new topics, making new friends and showing maturity as the new leaders of lower school.
From maths to English and all in between we have been very busy. Personal development, discussing environmental change with our English topic, getting to grips with place value, exploring Europe, e-safety and classifying objects have all featured so far. Everyone is thrilled to have their own handwriting pen and is taking great pride in all their work. I’m sure you’ll agree the standards for presentation have been set very high. Well done Year 4, keep it up! The children have been amazing at meeting the extra demands of Year 4. From assemblies, to selecting student reps in different groups to early transition to maths and English sets, the children have shown real enjoyment of being back at school and making the most of each day.
